ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Develops and implements inventory strategy to support Service requirements consistent with inventory guidelines.
· Reviews weekly output from Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for assigned group of parts.
· Places new purchase orders and re-schedule open orders to support MRP plan and maintain desired inventory level.
· Develops and maintains monthly inventory reports and recommend inventory reduction opportunities.
· Ensures supplier's acknowledgement of purchase orders is consistent with required dates and quantities.
· Monitors on-time delivery from suppliers and initiates corrective action as required.
· Maintains accurate master planning data in business systems for assigned group of parts.
· Helps support the resolution of purchased price variances, AP discrepancies, and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions within stated time frames.
· Participates in special projects as required.
· Maintains appropriate part- number-related files for a
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
· Skill in interpreting MRP output.
· Advanced knowledge of Purchasing procedures.
· Advanced knowledge of Master Scheduling, Inventory Planning and Production processes within a large ERP system such as SAP.
· Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong computer skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
· 3-4 years experience as a buyer or planner in a high-tech manufacturing environment highly desirable.
· Certification in APICS or CPM is desirable.
