Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Project Manager on a CONTRACT opportunity with a leading company in the East Bay.


This position requires demonstrated organizational expertise, experience in building and maintaining a project office, senior project management and leadership ability combined with in-depth skills and specific expertise in project office development and execution.Additionally, this position will also involve hands-on project management for large scale projects. Management of these projects will follow the processes and methodologies created by the program office






· Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
· Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
· Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
· Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
· Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.



· In coordination with the Director of the IT Project Office plan, design and develop the IT Project Office organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, resource needs, tools, processes and methodologies.
· Deliver project support to IR&C and its UC/UCOP clients by developing and providing guidance in project management processes and methodologies.
· Aid in raising the maturity level of IR&C IT project management by developing and providing mentoring and coaching to project managers and project members.
· Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support development and delivery of the IT Project Office in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
· In coordination with the Director of the IT Project Office, identify and implement “best practice” project management processes, standards and methodology.
· In coordination with the Director of the IT Project Office, define and build a communication plan to assure understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the IT Project Office and project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
· Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
· Track project milestones and deliverables.
· Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
· Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
· Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
· Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.




· Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
· Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
· Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
· Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
