Adecco M&S is seeking a Science Professional to work under the following responsibilities but not limited to under a 12 month contract in Irvine, CA:
The candidate for the Lab intern position in the Retinal Disease Research Program (Department of Biological Sciences) will be involved in a team effort to identify and characterize new molecules for use as therapeutics in treating ocular disease. Under supervisor’s guidance, the position is expected to conduct experiments with substantial independence. The candidate will be responsible for (and must have demonstrated knowledge / experience in) practical experimentation (planning, execution, analysis, troubleshooting) and maintenance of accurate records of all work performed in laboratory notebooks. In addition, the candidate must be able to work in a team environment, coordinating activities with coworkers.
Position Requirements
• This position requires a BS or Master Level of education in a relevant biological discipline (e.g. cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry) and at least one year practical lab research experience.
• Experience in cell culture, Western blotting, and siRNA.
• Experience in, and knowledge of, assay methods such as cell viability assay, ELISA, histology and basic fluorescence microscopy.
• Knowledge in signal transduction related to oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.
• Be proficient in computerized data management, analysis and presentation using standard software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Good oral and written communication skills
