Lead Controls Engineer

The Adecco Group, a world leader in the recruitment of Engineering and Information Technology professionals, has an immediate, five month contract employment opportunity available in Eden Prairie, MN for a Lead Controls Engineer.

Job Description:
Lead the model based Controls Design and Development activities - from concept development through production implementation, of electro-hydraulic valves / systems. Develop mechatronic control systems and components as part of the product development process.

Develop product and design requirements based on voice of customer. Serve as a liaison between customers, suppliers and internal departments. Responsible for facilities planning and developing designs. Lead design reviews, conduct DFMEA's, and develop and manage validation plans. Lead and / or participate on program teams for various engineering projects. Respond to direct customer inquires regarding product function and design, problem-solving, product improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess 6 - 8 years of engineering experience in developing Mechatronic systems and corresponding Controls algorithm development (hardware and software) for vehicle applications. Technical knowledge of model-based control design, ECUs, hydraulic systems, and electro-magnetics is required. Matlab / Simulink modeling experience is preferred. Experience with vehicle dynamics, production embedded software design, in-field calibration experience, and diagnostic and communications experience is highly desired. Capability in the following areas is a plus: C / C++ programming; Clearcase / Clearquest; Doors; calibration tools; CAN protocol; analyzing / rapid control prototype platforms.

Structured problem solving techniques and reliability modeling is a plus. Strong project management and organization skills. Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation. Leadership skills with strong customer presence. Failure analysis and prediction techniques, a plus. Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving. Systems engineering skills highly preferred.
