MARYSVILLE, Ohio (August 3, 2023) – Honda honored 28 suppliers that provide indirect products and services to Honda manufacturing plants and business operations across the U.S. during its annual Honda Indirect Procurement Supplier Conference in Columbus, Ohio on August 2.

The 28 suppliers were selected from more than 6,000 North American suppliers that provide a wide variety of equipment, products and services that support Honda’s U.S. business operations and the manufacturing of automobiles, engines, transmissions, powersports and power equipment products in America.

The awardees were selected for achievements in the categories of Supplier of the Year, Regional Supplier of the Year, New Supplier, Sustainability, Challenging Spirit and Outstanding Value. These honorees represent an extensive network of North American suppliers critical to Honda’s U.S. business operations. In 2022, indirect purchasing for business and manufacturing operations across North America totaled $5.3 billion.

“The relationships we have with our suppliers are very important to Honda and having strong collaboration creates a better working environment for all of us,” said Matt Daniel, Department Lead of Strategic Planning & Transformation within North American Indirect Procurement Division. “The relationships with our suppliers are critical in establishing effective business partnerships that deliver results both for Honda and our suppliers. The suppliers that we honored this week are a big reason that we are confident about what lies ahead for us.”

The suppliers providing equipment, products and services to Honda are local, national and global in scope. This includes new suppliers and many that have grown along with Honda in North America since the company began production in Ohio in 1979.
