Reviews mortgage applications and documentation to ensure conformation to the lender's guidelines and secondary market investor standards. Generally reviews residential loans of one or more type, including conventional, FHA, or veteran. Responsibilities include the timely examination of documents for accuracy and completeness, liaison and coordination with the loan originator and senior underwriting for any exceptions, disposition of non-funded loans in a timely manner, and withdrawal or declination of loans as appropriate.
Position requires two or more years of residential mortgage underwriting experience including conventional loans and manual review, and a high school diploma. Must also be able to understand the forms, systems and terminology associated with the industry, work efficiently under pressure, possess verbal and written communication skills, and be computer literate.
