Adecco & IAAP Celebrate Administrative Professionals Week & Launch 2nd Annual Adecco Mentor Award Call for Entries

MELVILLE, N.Y. (April 22) – In recognition of Administrative Professionals Week which is celebrated internationally from April 19-25, Adecco Group North America, the world leader in recruitment and workforce solutions, and the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) are pleased to announce the call for entries for the 2 nd Annual Adecco Mentor Award. 2009 marks the third year Adecco and IAAP have partnered to honor those who foster the growth and development of the vital administrative professional community.

There are currently over 4 million administrative professionals in the U.S. , an integral part of the 150 million strong American workforce, and the importance of talented administrative professionals can be seen now more than ever. In addition, the industry continues to grow as the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that administrative professional positions will be among the most new jobs entering the economy in the coming years, all further evidence around the need for strong mentorship of these professionals.

“As businesses evolve in the current climate, administrative professionals are assuming responsibility and oversight of projects formerly reserved for managers and other company leaders,” said Barb Horton CAP, president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. “With a workforce of over 1 million professionals in the United States alone, we are proud to partner with the IAAP to honor the unsung heroes of the workplace,” says Bernadette Kenny, Chief Career Officer at Adecco USA . “Times of economic uncertainty remind us that you cannot put a price on the professional and moral lessons mentors bring to the workplace. It's important we take time to honor those who make the office a place of learning and growth.”
