Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Designer #554 on a --CONTRACT TYPE-- opportunity with a leading company in Corning, NY.
Work with project managers, subject matter experts and design engineers to improve existing equipment design. Follow designs through fabrication at local vendors. Migrate designs through various machine sizes and types. Some data analysis, engineering calculations and stress analysis may also be required depending on the candidates skill level.

Understanding of material properties and metals fabrication. Machine Design experience with proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD. Organized file management and a self starter that can seek out solutions using available resources.

Experience in a machine shop environment, knowledge of refractory and insulation materials, SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency and experience working with a PDM system.

Leadership skills, detail oriented, excellent communication skills, team player, able to work with vendors with minimal supervision

Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 5 years

Must Have:
* Metal fabrication
* Machine design preferred
* Ability to take a project from design to vendor
* 3D and 2D CAD, SolidWorks, AutoCAD experience required
* PDM System a plus

Travel: ~10% domestic to local vendors
