Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a CADD Drafter on contract with a leading company in Jackson MS 39211. The right candidate for this role will need to have strong Microstation experience, this candidate will be responsible for supporting Project and Protection Engineers and producing timely and accurate drawing packages for complex protection and control projects & proposals including single line and three line diagrams, DC and AC schematic diagrams, electrical interconnect drawings including SCADA, control room layouts, panel elevation drawings, cable schedules, structural / electrical details, and a detailed bill of material for electrical substation projects.Must be able to complete complex drawing packages with direct supervision and sketches provided by others. All work must be done to applicable CAD and engineering standards.The remainder of the job responsibilities and requirements are below.
Responsibilities
CADD panel and interconnect wiring using working knowledge of the NEC and/or customer specifications. Must be able to develop wiring diagrams and cable/conduit tables from schematics.
CADD detailed panel layouts / elevations
Assist in development of bill of materials for panels, termination cabinets, conduit/trough, and cable trays
Follow quality procedures and standard design processes including document control
Perform thorough review checks of own work and the work of others
Update engineers with job completion estimates and status
Completes work assignments per agreed upon schedules
Plot/scan/copy drawings and construction documents required for project submittals
Requirements
Associates Degree in Drafting and Design Technology, or equivalent experience
Minimum one (1) year drafting experience in Microstation. Experience producing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams strongly preferred
Must have strong knowledge of desktop computers and Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity with web-based design collaboration sites and drawing management systems
Great communicator who can effectively interface with a multi-discipline engineering team as well as project managers, but has the knowledge to work independently
Detail orientated with good organizational and time management skills. Continually strives for a professional product with a quality & process mindset
Customer service orientated with experience following quality assurance processes while working in a projects schedule-driven environment
Quick learner able to adapt to various customer standards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Desired:
Four year electrical engineering technology degree
Highly proficient with both AutoCAD and Microstation
Experience with SCADA and RTU system design
Familiarity with SEL
Experience with utility protection and control design standards.
Understanding of design drafting practices and engineering systems utilized in the power industry.
Design experience in laying out control rooms including cable tray layout and parts selection
15kv and 34kv switchgear design experience.
