Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers in manufacturing product within the production industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes good working relationships with customers, co-workers, supervisors/managers, and all other employees.
Responsible for adhering to, and maintaining all ISO 9001 procedues and requirements of the Production function and department. This includes having active participation in the internal and external audits for the Rochester division, when necessary.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as type, quantity, product specifications, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Inspects products to verify conformance to Quality Plan specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Prepares production schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure that the production and quality of finished products meets the required specifications.
Enforces working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with company policy and safety standards.
Resolves worker grievances or confers with the Director of Manufacturing on unsettled grievances for action.
Properly train new, permanent employees in manufacturing, safety, and quality procedures through the use of the Orientation Process.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Actively participates in the employee performance review process and employee discipline as needed.
Responsible for initial approval of all employee vacation requests.
Responsible for documenting all employee accidents reported, performing proper accident investigations, and for following human resource and OSHA procedures regarding incident.
Responsible for adhering to all company policy and safety regulations, including, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas.
Active member and leader of a Process Management Team (PMT). Attends and facilitates the PMT meetings.
Performs all other duties as assigned by higher management.
Directly supervises employees within the production department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
