TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking an Infrared Signature Analyst for one of our clients in Laurel, MD. Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Position Overview:

Predict and evaluate Infrared (IR) signatures of missiles and rocket motor plumes in endo and exo-atmospheric flight conditions in support of ballistic missile defense technology development. Perform Monte Carlo simulations to characterize uncertainties in foreign threat missile IR signatures. Perform quality assurance of IR signature data products for delivery to customers. Create innovative IR prediction numerical simulation capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Use these numerical models to predict IR signatures of missiles and rocket motor plumes in endo and exo-atmospheric flight conditions in support of ballistic missile defense technology development. Perform Monte Carlo simulations to characterize uncertainties in foreign threat missile IR signatures. Perform quality assurance of IR signature data products for delivery to customers.
Develop and extend the capabilities of codes used for intensive numerical calculations and associated graphical applications using C/C++ in the Linux operating system.
Compute aerotherrnal response of missiles and high temperature chemically reacting plumes to derive IR signatures.
Compare predictions with flight test data, literature, and predictions from community codes.
Document results in technical memoranda and papers, present findings to government agencies and flight test mission planners.

Basic Qualifications Required:

M.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related science.
Highly knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: Aerotherrnal heating, IR signature prediction, radiation transport, thermochemical ablation, reacting flows, plume IR emissions, turbulence and diffusion.
Experience working in the Linux/Unix operating system environment.
C/C++ programming experience writing codes using state-of-the-art scientific computing techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
