Job Description
Adecco is currently hiring for Mortgage Underwriters. The Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting loans and ensuring compliance with industry/company standards, regulations and requirements. We have opportunities for Mortgage Underwriters with all levels of experience and are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and superior customer service skills.
Mortgage Underwriter – Mortgage Loan Processor (Real Estate)
Job Responsibilities
As a Mortgage Underwriter you will work closely with loan originators to secure required documentation to underwrite and evaluate loans in order to ensure minimal risk, maximum profit and compliance with all regulations and requirements.
Additional responsibilities:
Handling different types of lending (i.e. conventional, government-backed, etc.)
Interviewing applicants in order to obtain personal and financial data
Examining loans for accuracy and completeness
Collaborating with senior underwriters on loan exceptions
Withdrawing or declining loans as necessary
Answering questions and advising customers
Contacting customers by mail, telephone, or in person concerning acceptance or rejection of applications
Calculating, reviewing, and correcting errors on interest, principal, payment, and closing costs, using computers or calculators
Checking value of customer collateral to be held as loan security

Job Requirements
This role requires Mortgage Underwriters with residential mortgage underwriting experience including manual underwriting. Customer service is at the core of this position; you must have exceptional customer service skills, a friendly telephone presence, and great communication skills.
Additional requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Residential mortgage underwriting experience
Experience validating income, assets, tax returns and collateral documents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
Customer service focus
