Job Description:
Mortgage Resolution Specialist II
Handle incoming legal correspondence and schedule hearings. Coordinate witness attendance with outside attorney network. Requires court-related decision responsibilities, independent judgment and excellent communication skills, PC capabilities, interpretation of legal documents, and procedures for examination. Work under regular supervision. Assists with preparation of legal documents
Assessing potential or low risk and cost analysis through court pleadings and counsel’s opinion of costs involved to settle or proceed with defense in court. Analyzing documents and records to determine case merit and assign monetary risk to the company. Developing strategy with internal and local counsel to be used in court that is consistent with applicable law and investor guidelines. Analyzing settlement offers, and basis and merit of offer. Utilizing judgment to provide information and documentation to be utilized in court relevant to the case and not protected. Updating the litigation loan database and reports with current information on the status of the litigation, strategy currently used, and upcoming critical events and dates. Reporting and discussing litigation on loans with senior management in monthly litigation meetings. Identifying gaps in the foreclosure policy and procedure which allowed breakdown and making suggestions to correct breakdown in process
Successful Candidate Will Have:
Paralegal certificate. College degree in Business, Math, English, Legal or other related subject (and/or equivalent work experience). Knowledge of mortgage banking, familiarity with RESPA, FFDCPA, GLBA, and federal and state laws related to foreclosure and bankruptcy processes. 2 years of experience preferably in a mortgage banking environment. Ability to audit and analyze work outputs by interpreting government agency and department guidelines/standards. Advanced analytical skills, ability to analyze problems and provide the appropriate solution. Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic correspondence. Advanced problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Ability to read legal terms and conditions and understand their meaning and how it applies to work processes. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations on how to improve trends. Must be highly confidential to protect the client’s privacy rights. PC skills including (but not limited to) advanced Word, Excel, Access, and Internet "
