Our customer, a leader in the financial industry with locations from coast to coast, is searching for a Accountant / Hedge Fund Experience. This is a contract position with a global Fortune 100 Company. A foot in the door has the possibility to open additional opportunities. Position: Accountant / Hedge Fund Experience
Location: Jersey City, NJ 07310
Pay rate: $25.75 hr.

Accountant / Hedge Fund Experience
Senior Accountants are responsible for the fund and partnership accounting for Hedge Funds and Fund of Funds and the financial reporting for those entities.
Monthly, Quarterly and Other Periodic Activities For Fund of Funds:
Accumulate and summarize portfolio activity from the funds’ investment manager, banks, custodians and underlying fund administrators.
Review and record cash transactions.
Review and record expense activity.
Mark the value of the portfolio to market.
Accumulate and summarize investor activity from the funds’ investor services agent.
Prepare expense budget analysis and perform expense calculations.
Determine the value of the funds and allocate that value to each investor, including:
New issue income, Side pocket income,Management fees
Incentive allocation and crystallization, incorporating hurdles and preferred returns
Side letter agreements For unitized funds, calculate equalization.
Calculate and review the funds’ geometric returns.
Coordinate the preparation and distribution of each investor’s periodic capital statement.
Prepare unaudited financial statements. Prepare and distribute other recurring and ad hoc monthly reports to internal and external parties.
For unitized funds, calculate transactions for series of shares roll up.
Assist in the annual audit.
Prepare the annual financial statements including cost/unrealized rolls, FAS 157 tables, SOI, financial highlights,
Maintain a controlled, SAS 70 operating environment that complies with operational standards.
As directed by the Sec Processing Sr. Analyst, resolve issues and address high level requests from clients and other third parties in conjunction with Relationship Management.
Work with and assist other associates in meeting common goals.
Independently manage time over the monthly, quarterly and annual production schedules and consistently meet weekly, monthly client deliverables, with overtime as necessary.
Develop expertise with few repetitions.
Operate in an environment in which the business logic has not been automated.
Analyze unique and recurring situations, come up with solutions and continuously improve processes, all with limited management interaction.
Be able to communicate written and verbally with peers, management, and clients, if necessary.
Pro-actively seek out educational and informational sources to remain industry current.
B.A., B.S Degree in Business majoring in Finance, Accounting, or another Financial-related program from a tier 1 university
1 – 3 years of Hedge Fund Administration or related experience preferred
Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word).
