We are hiring for a Senior Staff Accountant / CPA – Midtown Atlanta

My client who is the nation’s largest company of their kind is in the market who are experience rapid growth are looking for a skilled Senior Staff Accountant.

Here are a few details of the role:
The Senior Accountant will work within the Corporate Office in Atlanta,Georgia.

They will be charged with assisting the Accounting Manager with the financial affairs of the organization, including preparation and review of financial analysis of operations, preparation of monthly accounting reconciliations with supporting journal entries and schedules, as well as providing support to internal and external audit requests.

The Senior Accountant will also assist in various revenue and cost analysis projects in addition to the month end close process responsibilities. This role will have significant involvement in the Cost of Sales Estimate Process as well, which has high visibility and communication among the Company’s key executives.


Key components:

Advanced Excel skills
Strong acumen using Access
Heavy experience with financial reporting
Knowledge regarding cost of goods sold
Accruals



Primary duties include:

Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Ability to function, accommodate and meet all month end close timeline schedules.
Assist in preparing for quarterly reviews and annual audits, including adherence to timelines, assisting in the resolution of audit issues, providing information to the auditors as necessary.
Issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis.
Ensure corporate accounting compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404, including closing process, consolidations and financial reporting.
Assist in the drafting of accounting policies and procedures.
Assist Controller in various projects which help better assess financial information.
Act as the key contact person for field operations (markets) to discuss unusual trends and issues which effect cost estimates and actual compared to trends and budget.


Experience required:

Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
CPA preferred
Experience with reporting preferred
Intermediate experience with Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
Experience with Epicor, Microsoft Access, and FRX a plus
Experience with report writing using Microsoft Access, FRX and Excel a plus

Travel:

This position may require up to 10% travel. This position will be located within a traditional office environment.
