Description:
Directs the sourcing and materials management function in a manner that ensures optimum quality, prices and delivery for all parts needed to support production while at the same time meeting all FAA, customer and internal requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage supplier performance to include continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership. Maintains/analyzes supplier data for evaluating product quality, on-time deliveries & costs.
Maintain close relationship with Sales & Engineering in order to anticipate new purchasing requirements.
Partner with International HQ in making strategic purchasing decisions in order to take advantage of volume purchasing and resultant in better pricing. Periodically meet with HQ in order to strengthen the relationship and enhance the coordination of efforts.
Manage and implement sourcing strategies to support corporate objectives, providing the company with a competitive advantage in the areas of quality, delivery and cost.
Compile requests for proposals, including the technical data package and the non-disclosure / confidentiality agreements. Ensure follow-up is completed on competitive bids.
In conjunction with International purchasing department, determine what parts can be locally sourced and establish new vendors to meet those local needs. Work closely with Engineering & Quality in order to certify new vendors. Continuously research new vendor sources.
Create and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers. Negotiate and manage all contracts for assigned commodities.
Report department key performance metrics on a monthly basis which includes Purchase Price Variances, Freight, Inventory, On Time Delivery performance, cost savings and shortages.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning and assigning work to the department personnel, performance appraisals, addressing complaints and resolving departmental issues.
Coordinate supplier reviews to analyze capacities to ensure current and future needs are met.
Ensure Program Management milestone compliance and on time support of supply chain activities.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Supply Chain supervisory role
Familiarity with MRP, JIT and SAP Systems is essential.
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Materials Management or related area or related work experience
