Job description

An OEM Marketing Manager position is available in the Fremont, CA area courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technology. The OEM Marketing Manager is responsible for four (4) functional activities within the Sales & Marketing organization, namely, (1) Marketing Communications, (2) Product Management, (3) B2B Marketing, and (4) Business/Market Intelligence.

The OEM Marketing Manager is responsible to translate data into possible actions and opportunities in the market, develop strong relationships with industry experts, to assist the Line of Business and Global Account Management Team in making qualitative and quantitative decisions as to the design-in, product roadmap/innovation roadmap alignment of Solid State Drives (SSDs) – translating into steep revenue growth year-on-year, development and growth of designated key/strategic accounts utilizing internal/external sales & marketing management tools.

The OEM Marketing Manager shall provide efficient and effective support to the Line of Business and Global Account Management Team to achieve or exceed total customer satisfaction as well as provide and update internal/external customers on business, market development and relevant information.

The OEM Marketing Manager must be aware of the actions of the competition in the market, industry landscape, and next generation technology and continuously counter with actions in alignment with our business policies and strategies.

The OEM Marketing Manager shall comply with ISO and other internal quality control standards and requirements as well as participate in various company-wide initiatives/projects

Marketing Communications Responsibilities:

Develop a Marcom strategy that will assist Lite-On brand to be perceived and accepted as a leader in storage solutions products in various segments of the market
Responsible for managing the development (concept), planning, and execution of programs for marketing communications initiatives including, Brand/Corporate Identity, message development, collateral, website, customer case studies, customer and B2C communications event with the overall purpose in keeping and growing customers through creating, delivering, and communicating to promote products and services
Responsible to communicate complex technical features/advantages in simplified business terms
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the messaging process including multi-level message development (based on target markets), supporting scenarios via application notes, customer proof points/testimonials
Develop key performance indicators to track and measure outbound marketing program results
Responsible for events management: messaging, themes, product demonstrations coordination, logistics, signage, booth management, show management
Develop detailed knowledge of website and collateral content development: writing, design, digital graphics, layout website architecture/structure - - overall intent to be able to communicate key concepts over the Internet
Continue to evolve the website to include rich/new content and constantly fine-tuning navigation of the site to enhance user experience
Create measurement tools to track and profile user activity

Product Management Responsibilities:

Develop detailed knowledge of customer(s) experience by analyzing direct/indirect customer feedback information provided via Sales Training, Customer/Product Support, Internet (blog, forums), product returns (RMA) and actively participating in a continuous improvement program for current, future product or/and service offerings
Demonstrate ability to translate market needs into clearly defined and detailed product requirements
Interface with key partners, industry experts, service organizations and product development to define, develop, market, sell, and deliver product(s) and the product value proposition in alignment with the organization’s strategic direction
Interface with product development / project management to communicate product requirements and determine viable development strategies, deliverables, and release/launch dates in alignment with target market
Maintain understanding of key market drivers, customer experience, and work towards a ‘thought’ leadership position
Evaluate competitive market offerings in order to incorporate unique competitive advantages, competitive differentiators in the product or/and service offerings
Interface with content service providers, independent software vendors, industry/trade organizations to promote product features, standards

B2B Channel Marketing Responsibilities:

Ensure alignment of marketing promotions with sales & distribution channel to allow channel partners to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize stock out in adherence to minimum stocking levels
Constantly focus on sell-in to all centralized buyers and regional chains for maximum channel penetration emphasizing on repeat business (post initial buy-ins)
Obtain and analyze channel sales figures from resellers or/and distributors
Co-working with Corporate Marketing or/and Global Account Teams to jointly invest and analyze (ROI) the market development funds (MDF) and Co-op to increase channel sell-through which includes, but not limited to, VAR and distributor promotions (spiffs, rebates, volume discounts, specials, etc) identifying the most effective programs for sell-in
Create and deliver B2B Channel Marketing, Partner training and incentive programs
Develop collateral to make Field Sales, Channel Partners more productive
Manage all B2B Channel Partners communication, Marketing Programs and Partner portals
Assist in managing and recruiting new Channel Partners if/where applicable
Develop key performance indicators to track and measure B2B marketing program results

Business/Market Intelligence Responsibilities:

Develop, communicate and deploy a market-driven approach for the various market segments (as defined and in alignment with organization’s strategy) focusing on identification of business opportunities utilizing product/innovation roadmaps as provided
Engage with industry experts/analysts, customers, to secure business & market intelligence, business development practice, innovation management, enhancement of ‘knowledge-base’
Collect and analyze customer and market data and develop market forecast based on internal/external research
Monitor competitor’s actions and forecast possible moves
Provide recommendations on Product/Placement/Price/Promotions
Update and maintain a Business/Marketing Intelligence Database
Responsible for timely reporting of market information (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
Participate in the Business Planning process – providing business/market information and providing recommendations related to programs or/and best practices
Support the Line of Business and Global Account Management Team in its Business Planning process and priority setting by supplying necessary analysis
Interface with various functional groups, specifically, Product Development / Advanced Research Center (innovation roadmap) and Product Management (product roadmap) to align on methodologies and business/market identification of opportunities

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent business/marketing experience is required
MBA preferred
5 to 10 years of OEM sales & marketing execution / sales & marketing operations support experience
Technical/engineering knowledge in solid state drive, general IT industry digital storage experience a plus
F&A knowledge a plus
CRM application knowledge a plus
Effective presentation skills and sales training experience a plus
