My client is currently recruiting for the position of Maintenance Manager to be based in its facility located in the beautiful coastal town of Georgetown, SC. BASIC FUNCTION:
MAINTENANCE MANAGER ROLLING MILL
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for management of maintenance personnel engaged in maintenance, repair, and servicing of all existing equipment and facilities in the rod / rolling mill.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Maintenance Manager Rolling Mill is primarily responsible for the managment of maintenance personnel engaged in breakdown, rebuild and preventive maintenance programs to minimize production downtime due to equipment failure. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
The incumbent is responsible for maintenance and installation of reheat furnace, cranes, roughting mill, intermediate mill and finishing mill including a c-hook system.
This position requires formalized maintenance training and from 8 to 10 years experience in heavy industrial maintenance with an extensive orientation period to rolling mill equipment. In addition a degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is strongly desired.
The Maintenance Manager Rolling Mill is responsible for implementing and setting priorities for the preventive maintenance program which includes checking product handling equipment for wear or damage, inspecting cranes and all electrical and electronid systems. Also responsible for completing project maintenance as required and directed.
Incumbent is responsible for subordinate selection, training, evaluation, discipline, motivation and safety. Accountable for employee compliance with established safety procedures.
Challenges for the incumbent involve minimizing production downtime by proper scheduling and planning of work. Checks work in progress to insure proper maintenance is being performed, anticipates problems and investigates inadequate equipment performance and takes corrective action. Also responsible for maintenance planning, ordering and expediting spare maintenance parts used in steel making.
