Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Senior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer on a long term contract opportunity with a leading wireless communications company in Las Vegas, NV. Candidates within a 2 hour radius (drive or direct flight) are also acceptable, regular travel to Las Vegas is expected but otherwise, this person can work remotely.

SUMMARY:

The Senior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer, DAS leads the design and/or technical implementation of distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other managed networks projects. Primary responsibilities include the definition of network architecture, completion and presentation of design packages, planning and supervision of RF testing, and direction of system acceptance and customer integration activities. The incumbent will collaborate closely with customer engineers and internal teams to develop and deploy designs that meet or exceed technical requirements. The incumbent will self-perform or direct external resources to complete duties. The incumbent will be responsible for managing multiple projects and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Define appropriate network architecture and equipment for each project.
Lead customer technical meetings to establish technical requirements and scopes of work.
Define design and system performance requirements.
Create and review designs using engineering tools such as iBWave and ATOLL
Direct or perform system testing utilizing scanners, spectrum analyzers, power meters, optical test equipment and other testing tools.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for system faults, alarms and performance degradation.
Analyze and summarize test data to evaluate performance against key performance indicators (KPIs). Optimize networks to meet contracted KPIs.
Facilitate timely and effective customer communication through regular meetings, reporting, site visits and conference calls.
Manage and direct contract resources, temporary technical staffing and vendors to perform engineering services in compliance with contracted timelines and approved budgets.
Manage multiple projects and provide regular status updates and progress reports to customers and management.
Prepare and submit testing reports, close-out packages and acceptance documentation. Compile and maintain all project documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
Interact with property owners and other stakeholders and their representatives.
Prepare technical design and testing standards as assigned.
May, depending on project, manage contractors/vendors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with company's standards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

QUALIFICATIONS:

Expert knowledge of RF principles, electrical theory, and wireless network design.
Demonstrated expertise presenting RF designs and performance analysis reports.
Demonstrated expertise in cell site integration, performance testing, network optimization and network operations, including the following technologies: CDMA, EVDO, UMTS, HSPA and LTE.
Advanced proficiency deploying and commissioning DAS networks based on equipment from Commscope, TE Connectivity, Mobile Access and Solid.
Advanced proficiency in the use of RF test equipment such as TEMS, spectrum analyzer, OTDR, power meter, PCTel or JDSU scanner.
Project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to define scope, manage stakeholders, manage schedule/task activity, manage change and communicate risks.
Safe driving record with a valid driver’s license.
Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results
Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors.
Self-motivated, able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions.
Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
iBWave Level 2 Certification.
Minimum six years of progressively responsible RF engineering experience, at least four of which directly involves DAS networks as a primary job responsibility.

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 60% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 40% travel will be required in support of the positions responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 35 pounds.
