Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, is partnering with a company who is located in the bay area and specializing in semiconductor equipment. We have several immediate openings for Sr. Engineering Technicians on a long term contract temporary opportunity.
Sr. Engineering Technician
Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating highly complex semiconductor fabrication equipment and/or sub-assemblies (including microprocessors) consisting of electronic, mechanical vacuum, fluid flow, and/or pneumatic sub-systems.
Works from highly complex test procedures, electro-mechanical schematics, diagrams, written and/or verbal descriptions, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions. Many times will work with little or no formally released documentation.
Performs complex mechanical, soldering, and repair tasks or works with suppliers to rework parts.
Writes highly complex technical reports and test procedures.
Performs complex operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Determines methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. May work with other engineers or technicians to resolve vaguely defined issues. Assist in the design, fabrication, test, and check-out of test equipment.
Assists in revising, developing and implementing department procedures and keeping work center organized and functional for multiple part-time project teams to use.
Functions in a lead capacity; shares expertise and provides training to lower level engineering technicians. May perform other duties as assigned in support of R&D Procurement and Concept build execution for new product engineering builds.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication, customer orientation, personal effectiveness, team skills, project management and quality. Requires demonstrated leadership ability. Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as Microsoft Office Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle Manufacturing Inquiry and View, Team Center. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Experience in high technology industry or industry with tight deadlines and much ambiguity in an innovative environment. Highly disciplined and a self-starter.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
AS level degree in electronics technology or equivalent and 6 years directly related experiences or;
BSEET level degree and 4-5 years directly related experience
6+ years directly related experience
Previous experience on semiconductor equipment
