Quality Engineer - Manufacturing Oil&Gas
Adecco Engineering and Technical is currently recruiting for a fulltime job opportunity for a Quality Engineering role. This is with a Equipment Manufacturing company on the Houston North side of Houston. This is a dynamic environment that offers opportunities to be involved in all phases of research and development including working with leading edge technologies.
Provide ongoing technical support to continuously improve quality processes while reducing manufacturing cost and safety/environmental concerns.
Interface closely with other departments to ensure projects are defined accurately and executed effectively.
Participate in, or lead, various corrective action and/or continuous improvement teams.
Knowledgable of metallurgy and machining and has developed Test Inspection Plans, prosecuted NCRs (supplier contact, review of root cause and corrective actions, development of Pareto charts to categorize defects), developed Manufacturing Quality Plans, ran Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies, and Performed Training.
Perform reviews of contracts evaluating the customer requirements and assuring that our processes meet their requirements as well as our safety and quality standards.
Coordinate third party inspections and communicate quality metrics.
Assist in the training and development of employees in order to support the Quality Management System including training of SPC methodology.
Provide support and participate in the administration of the Quality Management System.
Collect, analyze, and publish non-conformance and defect data in order to determine root cause and coordinate appropriate corrective actions in order to address issues.
Perform internal and external audits of various standard systems (ISO 9001, 5S, ISO-14001, OHSAS 18001, HSE, etc.) as required.
Keep work area in an organized and safe condition in compliance with 5S standards.
Know and comply with the company safety and environmental policies and regulations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (Mechanical Engineer or Metallurgical Engineering)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language required.
Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001, NDT and SPC Methodologies, and Continuous Improvement.
Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
Ability to review and analyze contracts.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of certified measuring and test equipment.
Advanced computer skills in software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to use or learn to use, as an administrator, the Achiever Plus software package
