Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technologies professionals, has an immediate career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer for a contract position with leading semiconductor company in Phoenix.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:


Experience

Ten years of experience in the design of AC/DC power distribution, logic circuits, equipment controls, sensors interface, motion control, pneumatics control and systems integration. Successful candidate should have extensive experience in creating systems that meet safety expectations as determined by SEMI S2, S8, S22 guidelines, IEC, VDE, CE, NFPA 79, NFPA 70, and UL508A.


One to two years’ experience in documentation procedures as established in an engineering organization producing capital equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience for which comparable knowledge, skills, and ability has been achieved.

Skills


Should have a broad based background in analysis, design and debug of complex electrical and electronic systems.


Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for the semiconductor equipment industry.


Ability to work constructively with a diverse group of people to achieve milestones established on complex internal/external projects.


Should be well versed with the requirements of CE, NEC , IEC, NFPA, VDE , SEMI S2-95 and other relevant standards as applicable to semiconductor manufacturing equipment.


Should be very experienced using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project; Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP); AutoCad; OrCad or Altium schematic capture.



Should have experience in a mentoring capacity with less experienced Engineers.


General Job Description

The successful applicant for this Engineering position will: provide solutions for difficult technical electrical issues associated with specific projects; contribute to the timely completion of specific programs and projects; possess the ability to work on complex assignments with some guidance and direction from the Engineering Manager.


Develop fail safe, cost effective designs for systems and lower level sub-assemblies used in semiconductor wafer processing equipment. Design, implement, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.


Integrate lower level assemblies to obtain a desired system level configuration.


Adapt digital and analog I/O requirements to achieve customer specific configurations.


Apply sound engineering principles, product specifications and research data to create designs for systems and products for the semiconductor industry maintaining code compliance and product design safety criteria.


Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.


Create and release technical components specifications for devices that will be integrated into larger capital equipment


Work under the supervision of the Electrical Engineering Manager; provide relevant and timely project status information to the Project Manager as required; supervise and train project team members.


Provide technical support for capital orders, expense projects, retrofits and development projects.


Provide engineering cost estimates to marketing for nonstandard options, new system features and product enhancements. This activity may also require some customer interaction dealing with design revisions and installation requirements.


Evaluate engineering change requests and implement changes as necessary following established procedures and schedules.


Travel to customer sites to assist in installation of retrofits and resolving equipment related problems.


Create product/system designs and associated documentation for the manufacturing and testing of semiconductor products. The documentation shall be complete, easy to follow, and depict a level of accuracy surpassing the customers’ (internal and external) expectations. This will also entail extensive inter departmental coordination for timely release of all designs.


Direct and/or participate in design reviews prior to releasing new designs to production.


Support testing of hardware for cost reduction and product improvement projects to verify performance objectives. Design and build test equipment, support basic instrumentation with hardware, create test procedures, perform electro-mechanical tests as required and maintain reliability data and records of all evaluations performed.


Provide Design and Manufacturing support on sales order specified systems for all parts of the product for which no major development effort is required.



Review technical manuals and communicate updates to Technical Publications department for revised documentation needs.



Provide Customer Service departments with engineering support in resolving field problems.



Support Document Control department in establishing relevant procedures for the manufacture of different sub-assemblies like schematics, wiring diagrams, wire-lists, cable assemblies, PCB assemblies, etc.



Provide electrical system integration, interfacing and interconnect for semiconductor products.


Education

Successful applicant will have either BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering or will possess a combination of education and experience commensurate with semiconductor capital equipment development.
