Job Title: Environmental Manager – Water Treatment Program
Location: Burbank, CA
Type: Contract
Pay: $32+ per hour (based on experience)

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Environmental Manager with LA’s larges wastewater treatment plant.

This position is responsible for management and daily oversight of the Industrial Source Reduction and Control Program (ISRCP), Pretreatment Program, and Industrial/Commercial Stormwater Program Water Reclamation Plant. The individual is accountable for implementing the overall program and administering improvements as necessary. Provides regulatory and technical expertise in pretreatment, stormwater management, water reuse, and environmental compliance. Directly manages a team, and ensures that all direct reports receive proper training and/or delivers appropriate training as necessary. Ensures that all work is delivered in a timely manner. Prepares and implements department budget.

Requirements and Duties:

Degree from four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or closely related field
Valid CWEA Environmental Compliance Inspection, Grade III Certificate, or higher preferred
Valid CA Driver’s license is required
5 - 7 years increasingly responsible work primarily in pretreatment required, with some storm water experience desirable
Supervisory experience required (this role will manage a staff of 10)
Knowledge and ability to adhere to environmental and safety compliance regulations
Excellent reading and editing skills
Ability to negotiate effectively with business owners when scheduling and performing compliance inspections
Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of pretreatment program implementation
Maintain and improve expertise in pretreatment and storm water regulations, theory, and practice
Oversee and certify routine pretreatment and storm water reports to local, State, and Federal authorities
Represent Program to various groups, including city staff and public officials, business owners, and professional organizations
Provide leadership, work direction and training to direct reports
