Adecco Engineering and Technical has a current job opportunity for a Mechanical Drafter on a contract basis with a leading company in Columbia, SC.
Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
Documentation of parts and bills of materials Understands and adheres to design and drafting standard practices.
Works from oral or written engineering instructions, procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
Responsible for completion of assignments, detects and corrects own errors. Not responsible for supervision or work of others.
Maintains competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
Must be customer driven and quality minded in performance of all assigned duties.
Adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
Works with minor independent judgment under close direction of senior staff. Work content and accuracy reviewed by engineers or senior department members.
Physical Effort: Moderate. Mobility required acquiring necessary information from other areas or departments. Occasionally required to lift materials for support of supplier development, product prototype, or laboratory build and test.
Software coding knowledge is a plus.
Designers with experience in developing, enhancing, or troubleshooting minor software applications relating to dynamic engineering BOM's or parametric CAD models are strongly encouraged to apply.
Ideal candidate will have a high affinity toward the programming and logic aspects of CAD software; for example parametric part design, LISP routines, BOM creation, etc.
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter; able to work from a problem statement and utilize CAD, Excel, and other available engineering tools to find the optimized best solution for the business.
Ideal candidate will have experience with engineering BOMs and systems that generate dynamic BOMs based on order selections
