We are seeking a Senior Global Application Specialist for an opportunity in Cleveland,OH. This is a full-time hire/direct placement opportunity offering extensive promotion opportunities along with an industry-leading benefit package.
Responsibilities will include:
Strategy & Planning
• Analyze and assess existing software systems, process and procedures.
• Identify and establish scope and parameters of software requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.
• Ensure that new software requirements meet company goals, business and system requirements, interface specifications, fulfill end-user requirements, and resolve existing business issues.
• Establish practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the software requirements process.
• Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for proposed software modifications to aid management in making implementation decisions.
• Ensure that proposed software enhancements are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision while keeping a global theme for consistency.
• Orchestrate software implementation projects and corresponding strategies with business units and technical teams.
• Conduct country specific interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via questionnaires, surveys, site visits, and other methods.
• Identify and establish scope and parameters of software requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.
• Lead software functionality review meetings with vendor, stakeholders and end users to elicit business requirements for software application implementations.
• Work with project stakeholders to prioritize collected software business requirements.
Acquisition & Deployment
• Collaborate in the planning, designing, developing and implementing of software applications.
• Contribute to testing software applications to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations.
• Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of software products and resolution of any adaptation issues.
• Perform research on POS and Loss Prevention software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Operational Management
• Review and communicate projects status, implementation status, critical production support issues, regular production support activities with all technical teams.
• Work with DBAs to coordinate patch implementation of all major application patches identified and approved by Global ERP Managers and business.
• Work with Global ERP and DBA team to review current requirement for changes to be promoted to production and ensure that those requirements are satisfied prior to production migration.
• Review current regression testing and work with Global ERP to ensure that all critical functionality is included in the regression process. Work with Regression team and other teams to optimize current regression cycle.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years IT experience.
• 5+ years experience with business requirements analysis and specification writing for enterprise-level application integration and support, including business process modeling/mapping.
• Hands-on experience interviewing end-users for insight on software functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.
• Experience with writing business and functional requirements for software applications.
Preferred, not required:
• Retail related experience.
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP.
• Knowledge and expertise of PCI technology, transaction processing, and related retail standards.
• Experience with POS Hardware and peripherals.
• Experience with implementing and supporting Loss Prevention applications in a retail environment.
Formal Education & Certification
• Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in related field or equivalent experience.
• Multilingual capabilities (Spanish and/or Portuguese) preferred.
