Adecco Engineering and Technical has a permanent job opportunity for a New Model Project Engineer. Our client, located on the east side of Columbus, is a major automotive manufacturer and one of the area's top destinations for engineers and designers.
Monitor and facilitate all activities related to a new product launch. Act as a liaison between internal departments, suppliers and customers.
Ensure New Model Development E-Flow is followed throughout all depts
Prepare & Report the status of NM Projects through the E-Flow System
Establish and maintain program master schedule.
Establish program start up expense budget, review PO’s for accuracy and ensure start up expense is less than program set limits.
Conduct weekly progress check of master and departmental SAPs.
Receive, and review mass production transfer documents and relay them to internal departments.
Monitor the development of customers “E” documents – review, evaluate, and submit final documents to customer
Prepare and facilitate customers “NMR” review presentation. Reflect and assist with closing any gap items. Assign tasks to appropriate personnel to close gap items
Support QC and PPG with supplier development.
Review supplier NMR results and make recommendation for corrective action when needed and/or escalate concerns to the B.O.D.
Conduct Internal NMR reviews with each Dept.’s Section Manager, evaluate readiness of the NMR phase and report results to the B.O.D.
Develop the trial event forecast and update as needed
Develop trial event build schedule including supplier event delivery schedule.
Collect Specla documents from Parts Quality group, review and submit required Specla documents to the customer
Create initial Tooling gant for all supplier and internal tooling, provide the updated tool gant to the customer as needed (each Dwg release) Issue the Tool Gant
Be available for domestic or international travel to evaluate and oversee the completion of production tooling and secondary applications and processes.
Monitor the development of packaging and ensure customer / supplier approval.
Monitor the procurement of raw material and purchased components. Ensure timely deliveries for scheduled event builds.
Monitor tact times and run rates to ensure product meets program targets.
Chair weekly and/or bi-weekly program review meetings per customers and internal “E” & NMR requirements.
Monitor supplier PPAP submission and assist with resolving component issues preventing full approval.
Monitor internal line associate training, development of operation standards, process flow, control plan and PFMEA review.
Monitor PV testing and submit reports to customer. Ensure timing meets program requirements.
Monitor N.M. (Problem Tracking Charts) PTC’s, and work with all departments to establish permanent countermeasures.
Monitor color development / MUS submission and insure timing meets program requirements.
Assist with BOM development and review. Ensure BOM is correct for each event.
Receive / review Customer Application structure and make NM Application Matrix
Monitor and assist the quality department with supplier QAV’s.
Attend fit trials, report any gap items, assist with countermeasures and ensure timely completion. Assign tasks to appropriate personnel to countermeasure any concern items
Assure LNDD application chart is completed per program schedule
Complete situation analysis of the New Model Project and create reflection items for improvement
Act as main contact with customer during New Model start-up
Receive, distribute and submit “E” documents
Complete and submit the event ATN form
Receive, distribute and submit the event cost matrix
Submit TSS and tooling gant chart
Receive, distribute and submit seat and component LNDD
Receive, distribute and submit the PAC-V
Receive, distribute and submit Specla documents
Receive, distribute and submit the BOM / Application check
Support Dept. Business Plan as required
Honda’s New Model development requirements, Honda’s supplier portal knowledge. Color / tool maturation knowledge
Auto Cad / blue print reading.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong management and organizational skills
Knowledge of Microsoft office.
Knowledge of QAD system
Knowledge of Change point control.
Knowledge of Spec Control
Ability to prepare and present information to all levels of management as required
Must have business computer software skills
Previous experience in project management or college equivalent
Understanding of Data base systems and spread sheets
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Must be able perform all job functions on multiple projects simultaneously
Must be able to travel including to foreign countries
