Entry Level Industrial Engineer
Description:
Will apply advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques and analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in maintenance functions. Manage and direct the design, specification, layout, purchase and installation of new technologies and equipment in Maintenance Facilities. Trains Maintenance Facilities Managers in Standard Methods and Productivity Reporting Systems.
Responsibilities:
Develop workflow proposals which incorporate lean principles. Develop project schedules for timeline of realization of agreed upon layout
Lead the effort to establish and maintain “Best Methods” for all job functions in the maintenance facilities. Direct field maintenance staff to complete the necessary studies to determine best methods. Document and present the best methods in a simple, easy to follow manner to all levels of management
Analyze, recommend, design and implement enhancements to existing work methods, flows and processes to improve current capabilities. Align with Maintenance Facilities Managers to understand process flow and floor space requirements
Oversees software selection and implementation.
Perform analysis to determine constraints and capacity requirements both current and future
Assist Senior Engineer on: expansion and new building programs, Capital project design, schedule, cost and installation, as well as the design, layout, recommendation and implementation of equipment in new and existing facilities
Ensures effective productivity measurements and reasonable expectancies are established for identified functions in the maintenance organization. Heavy emphasis regarding time and frequency studies
Develops, monitors, and provides reports on operational efficiency and labor utilization.
Establish baseline metrics to align expectations for ongoing improvements. Develop floor plan that incorporates lean principles
Coordinate staged moves with Maintenance Facilities Managers, Engineering Teams, Facilities and Project Teams that minimizes disruption to production schedule and ensures compliance during transition
Qualifications:
1-5 years Industrial Engineering experience
Strong knowledge of practices and procedures to effectively resolve workflow issues
Strong planning, organization, communication and problem-solving skills
Strong ability to gather, analyze and interpret information and develop, recommend and implement solutions
Ability to travel 50% of the time
Education:
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering
