Project Manager – E-Commerce Technology
Full-time, permanent role, based in Manhattan, NY
Join a known apparel retailer and become part of a team that is transforming their e-commerce shopping experience. The role will cover a range of projects spanning e-commerce, multichannel and CRM. The primary objective is to strategically partner with key business stakeholders to implement projects. You are expected to stay abreast of trends and new technologies that enable excellence in project management and tracking.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Responsible for managing all aspects of diverse, complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost.
Applies project management processes & methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards & meet customer expectations.
Responsible for assembling project plans & teamwork assignments, directing work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; & escalating issues appropriately.
Assists EPMO and IT Leadership in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify & prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
Act as trusted advisor to business units and 3rd party partners on all matters of E-Business implementations.
Collaborate with application development providers, software vendors, and other niche solution providers, (as necessary) to ensure that projects are delivered on time and budget.
Lead a portfolio of large transformational project initiatives as well as periodic enhancement releases.
IS leader for critical area of business growth. Must be able to engage and inspire both internal associates and external partners alike.
Ability to manage delivery of key support functions associated with e-commerce platform
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math or related field is required. Project Management Certification is preferred.
A combination of 5 – 7 years of experience in relevant industry business practices, business consulting, and/or technical consulting is required; retail and CPG sectors are most desired. Must have experience managing technical projects focused on E-commerce enablement.
Deep understanding of Project Management concepts (e.g., demand management, prioritization, approval processes, reporting, issue/risk resolution, dependency identification, financial tracking, scheduling, resource management, capacity planning)
Significant experience with IT Project Execution (e.g., estimation, scoping, build, budget, staffing, vendor management, contract management, deployment and release management, organizational change management, quality assurance)
Hands-on experience with large-scale system development efforts through all stages of the project life-cycle
Understanding of retail e-business enterprise architecture and application components.
Knowledge of ATG products, including ATG Commerce, ATG Knowledge, ATG CSC, and ATG Search a plus.
Ability to identify dependencies between projects and existing production environments
Strong communications skills; ability to interact with senior leadership
Experience estimating work effort and creating project plans
Must be an extremely quick learner willing to get into details as / when required
Ability to challenge application service providers and development partners and drive an agenda based on best practice standards.
Direct knowledge of retail / consumer industry and E-Commerce in multi-channel business environments
Deep understanding of current and emerging trends in electronic commerce, social media, and consumer interactions.
