Adecco Engineering and Technical is working with a client in Southfield, MI that has a full time, direct hire job opening for an Automotive Designer. The company is a stable, well-regarded, global supplier and the position will focus on the design of driveline components. Candidates with Catia V5 experience are preferred, but backgrounds with other CAD packages will also be considered.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience designing driveline/powertrain components/subcomponents and solid experience with Catia V5 (however, ProE or UG NX experience can also be considered). Proven proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and with tolerance stack ups is ideal. Candidates should also have proven leadership capabilities.
Automotive Driveline Designer job responsibilities include:
Designer will create 3D parametric CAD models, assemblies, associated prints, Bill of Materials (BOM) and other supporting prints for manufacturing. Designer will also perform data transfers, CAD file translations, plotting and file maintenance as required. Will take ideas from the point of being something as vague as a sketch or verbal description (“clean sheet”), to something that can be properly manufactured, assembled and used. Designer will then support and have responsibility for that part (foundries, machinists, technicians, etc.), utilizing the latest technology possible.
