Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER on a contract-to-permanent opportunity with a leading company in Shawnee Mission, KS.
The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of electrical design engineering for the manufacture, installation and startup of the project and requires working closely with the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
• BS Electrical Engineering or demonstrated performance in equivalent position of responsibility
• 5 years of experience in designing power and control systems/ motors
• Experience in field erection, working with subcontractors, preparing bids and estimates.
• Knowledge of PLC Programming, ladder logic and Visual Basic.
• Emulation / simulation software.
• Technical Math skills, including Boolean and basic complex algebra.
• Technical skills in natural physics, including a working knowledge of electricity and magnetism
Responsibilities:
• Electrical controls design, drawing, technical support and documentation.
• Design: formulate a plan and conceive practical solutions to technical problems; out-of-box thinker.
• Conducts and documents zone timing and other timing studies of automation, equipment, units, systems, and conveyors.
• Create, edit and issue work orders
• Maintain a personal Task List.
• Assist Project Manager.
• Familiar with relevant customer specifications, codes and practices.
• Creates updates and issues project control documents including formal calculations, matrices, charts, etc.
• Create update and issue controls maintenance requirements including spare parts, FIS, TMS, etc.
• Monitor and assist Subcontractors, including controls engineering sub.
• Prepares and updates detailed CPM schedules.
• Reports project progress (activity reports, project review meetings and field reports).
• Designs and oversees design of power and control systems.
• Directs and actively participates in system checkout/debug/start-up/commissioning.
• Trains customer's management and maintenance personnel and operators in electrical aspects of system operation.
