CHEMIST

Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Chemist on a long term opportunity with a leading company in the Kansas City area.

In this role you will assist the chief scientist with R&D projects, including chemical synthesis and manufacturing projects. Must also be able to perform laboratory synthesis and reactions with minimal supervision. Inorganic and organic chemistry knowledge and skills are required for this position. The selected candidate will be responsible for chemical evaluations, and development of robust, well understood processes. The work is collaborative and requires good communication skills and a desire to be part of a team.

Desired Competencies and Qualifications:
- Masters or Ph.D. in chemistry or synthetic organic chemistry
or B.S. in chemistry with 3 years experience in organic chemistry
- Experience in cationic ring opening polymerizations.
- Experience in chemical process scale-up is a plus
- Productive hands-on performer
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- The ability to multi-task

Required Skills:
HPLC, FTIR, NMR, Mass Spectrometry, Scale-up, Process Development.

Duties:

-Chemical evaluation, utilizing modern analytical instrumentation such as GC/MS, LC/MS, -NMR, FTIR.
-Project planning and execution
-Interpretation of mass spectrometer data, NMR and FT-IR spectra, and GC and HPLC chromatograms..
-Method development and method validation using chemical analysis techniques
-Suggest additional or alternate approaches to solve tough problems
-Make presentations of technical data
