Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a TEST ENGINEER on a -6+ month temp to possible hire opportunity with a leading company in Portsmouth, NH.
We are looking for a Test Engineer (RF preferrable, but not required) to work in a HWPS (Hardware Performance and Stress) testing lab. This position will be directly responsible for the development, test and demonstration of Mobility performance solutions to support new and existing products. This particular function owns the entire lifecycle of a project from test plan development, test execution. This particular position will work under the guidance of a technical lead.
Travel is estimated at 1-4 weeks throughout the year for training.
Specific responsibilities include:
Development of test cases, documenting results and supporting Mobility New Product Introduction driving revenue opportunities.
Clearly define test requirements, risks, and schedules by minimizing required associated program change requests.
Build ongoing technical relationships within the R&D Pre-Silicon, Post-Silicon, and Embedded Software product groups, as well as partners outside of R&D such as Marketing, Support, and Sales.
Formally track and manage product defects and feature shortfalls (“bug tracking”) found during testing and communicate technical escalations to partners and product teams, to improve the quality of products to reduce warranty costs.
Team technical subject matter expertise for products (Hybrids, Access Points and Controllers)
Creation, implementation, and leadership of Mobility performance and stress testing.
Analysis and understanding of competitive wireless products and technologies
Qualifications
Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or minimum of 4 years of related equivalent experience.
US Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability for occasional travel
Ideal candidate must be willing to work in a technically challenging environment and should have the following skills:
Hands on experience in working with Mobility Hardware (all the ins and outs of 802.11a/b/g/n) technologies and protocols; preferably a background as RF engineer.
Designing environments with APs, Controllers, Authentication, RADIUS servers (IAS, FreeRadius, SBR) AD, WPA/2, WEP, QoS, 802.1x, EAP protocols.
Working knowledge of Veriwave, Spirent, Ixia, WireShark, AiroPeek, OmiPeek or other similar tools.
Test methodology and execution as well as a scripting (TCL, Expect, Python) background.
Experience in networking (Switching, Routing, DHCP, PoE, SNMP, Voice, Security, WLAN etc…)
Demonstrate basic understanding of troubleshooting wireless connections with the ability to recognize, communicate, and drive resolution of product issues to improve overall customer experience.
