Job description

Adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search for Sewing Operators in Oklahoma City (near the Capitol). This position is a temporary to hire job opportunity. If you meet the qualifications listed below please Apply Now!

The Sewer must be capable of performing any sewing or folding operations within the Department from start to completion, in accordance with Production Control and Quality Assurance standards, regardless of complexity. Responsible for performing tasks as deemed necessary by Sewing Supervisor to achieve agreed upon departmental goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for verifying material pattern and color, and thread color per pick list.
Responsible for setting up and operating various sewing machines.
Responsible for proper stitching, inserting of cleaning instruction label or other accessories as needed, squaring all corners and over locking corners as required, and trimming excess thread.
Responsible for the operation of equipment and secondary operations necessary for the completion of a finished part.
Responsible for material inspection, and stacking of completed materials produced within the department.
Responsible for bagging and marking material as to the contents, sealing of the bags, and moving finished product to the shipping area.
Responsible for working off scheduled daily work order assignment sheets.
Responsible for inspection of all parts sewn to ensure shipment of only the highest quality parts.
Responsible for filling out the pick list for the quantity of product sewn, and completing the Operation Sheet and the Traveler for completed product.
Must be familiar with the operation of various types of sewing machines, etc. to assist in sewing operations.
Responsible for reporting to Sewing Supervisor any repairs or adjustments needed on equipment to maintain in good, safe operating condition at all times.
Responsible for practicing good safety habits, and following all safety guidelines.
Plans own daily activities, as each specific assignment may permit, within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor's direction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers.
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Experience in Industrial Sewing and Assembly preferred.


Pay for this position starts at $10 per hour plus overtime as needed. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity. Hours for they position are generally Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30pm however during high production hours can vary with some weekends.
