The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing the departments manufacturing processing and activities for the high-speed, precision machining of steel products in a job shop environment. The incumbent will assure compliance with all production and ISO 9001-2008 quality standards in all areas in support of achieving on-time-delivery commitments to our customers. Must be a driver of continuous improvement in production machining and plant operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
Analyzes work orders to determine production schedules.Directs work to machines based on machine capabilities, machine and operator availability, and tool package availability.
Assigns work to department personnel in order to meet production goals.
Reviews SFC data daily and follows up with operators to gain an understanding of significant issues affecting productivity.
Works with Methods, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other departments as required to resolve productivity issues surfaced by SFC.
Ensures that tools, holders, inserts, jaws and other supplies stored at the point of use are neatly organized and replenished.
Oversees operator self-inspection to ensure that ISO 9001 quality processes are adhered to.
Trains and directs operators as required on machine set-up and operation procedures.
Confers with Human Resources regarding company policies with respect to workers actions and enforces safety regulations.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Directly supervises manufacturing employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees and addressing discipline, complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with Human Resources.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year College; and four or more years directly related experience in CNC Manufacturing operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with advanced manufacturing theory, processes and applications as well as ERP systems is prefered.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, Manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite. SAP ERP experience is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CNC Machining Supervision experience is required. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001 experience is preferred,
