IT Help Desk Technician (Bethesda, MD) - low to mid $40K + 10% bonus potential + 500 stock option potential

Public REIT is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to provide end user support on a variety of issues. The support duties include supporting the corporate headquarters and multiple offices. Responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing IT and communications service issues, as well as documenting, tracking and monitoring IT and communications problems. Maintaining a strong working knowledge of supported systems through ongoing training, reading, and participation in projects is essential. Additional areas of responsibility include user training, application troubleshooting, tracking and maintaining asset inventory, assisting with handling nightly system and workstation back up, maintaining e-mail filter system, configuring computers for new users, setting up email and phone access for new users, and removing access for departing employees. Other items that fall under the IT Help Desk Technician are solving VPN related issues, and writing user instructions, documentation and procedures.

Qualifications required are an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent, 2+ years experience working in a network environment. Also required is knowledge of hardware, internal operating system technology, computer operations, and troubleshooting techniques. A strong customer service orientation is a must, as is the ability to work independently. Must also be a team-oriented person. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications is required, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. This position requires 20% regional travel.

Must have valid drivers license and own transportation.
