Server Administrator job in Vista, Ca
We currently have a Server Administrator job in Vista, Ca. The ideal candidate will be a mid level candidate with storng IT admim skills overseeing IBM and Dell server.
This is a 6plus month long term contract. Pay Rate 33/hr.
Responsibilities of Server Administrator:
Server Administration position that installs, maintains, administers, and optimizes Enterpriselevel servers in a high performance architecture environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing logical solutions, delivering reliable systems, and maintaining quality standards.
Where applicable, the Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.
Having installed and supported Windows or VMWare is not enough. We are looking for someone who can design, explain, implement, and run holistic solutions which incorporate system, storage, and networking elements.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain server environment 99.9% uptime
Active Directory administration
Disaster recovery and planning
Create & maintain server procedure documentation
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other relevant discipline and 7+ years of experience in Server Administration; OR
Associate’s degree or technical diploma/degree in Information Technology and 9+ years of experience in Server Administration support; OR
4+ years ofEnterpriselevel IT experience in an administration, support and/or oversight capacity
Must have Windows Certification: minimum of MCSE
Must have hands-on experience with IBM and Dell Servers
Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008 and other operating systems
Expert knowledge of VMware is required
Working knowledge of storage technologies, such as: SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue
Specific knowledge of Windows platform(s) required, as well as some working knowledge of MS SQL, Oracle relational database(s), and virtualization systems
2 Windows Certifications, i.e., MCSE/DBA
Virtualization Administrator or equivalent certification /experience
Ability to perform load balancing, clustering, and caching processes
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools, such as MS SCOM, SCCM
Familiarity with TCP/IP and other network protocols and operating system configurations
Some technical knowledge of scripting code using Windows Script scripting tools
Experience resolving server issues remotely
Knowledge of Netbackup / Backup Exec
