We are looking for a Hardware Technician with experience in Linux/Unix to support a dynamic group in a start up environment. If you have good Linux skills, hardware skills and like to tinker on varied projects and make a difference, this position is for you!
Will support the installation, preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and applications.


Responsibilities:

Assemble and maintain hardware equipment and some software applications.
Daily troubleshooting and repair of any problems with running stations.
Track failure rates and maintain spares logs and re-order equipment/consumables as needed.
Work with operators to monitor and improve performance.
Support work distribution among operators to ensure project goals are met.
Provide additional technical support for hardware infrastructure.
Write initial draft procedures, troubleshooting guides and simple test plans.
Support additional documentation requirements as needed.


Required Skills for this position include:

Ability to demonstrate coding capabilities (Python Preferred or other complex languages)
Ability to demonstrate excellent technical competency
Unix/ Linux environment expertise
Software Development
Experience in a Windows environment
Minimum two years as technician or in technical support role
Experience with physical setup and configuration of equipment such as computers or other hardware. Knowledge of basic electronics.
Comfortable supporting and modifying hardware.
Good teamwork and communication skills.

It would be great if you had:

Experience in site support of locations with hundreds of onsite users.
Experience with machine vision and photography with unique lighting conditions.
Motivated to incrementally improve on the design of custom hardware.
