A Technical Support job in Los Gatos,CA is available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technology. In order to qualify for this position you must have at least ten or more years of experience in IT and -3 or more years experience in Small Business IT systems (10-500 computers).
This is a full time position.
Technical Support job responsibilities include:
Providing day-to-day technical support and technical direction of our clients.
The majority of the workday would be spent working with clients over the phone and email, using our state-of-the-art remote-access system to remotely work with clients with their computer problems and/or questions.
Tracking trouble tickets through our client management system and will escalate to our senior architects when needed.
Two year degree (or equivalent). Four years is a plus.
A MCSE. Other certifications are a plus.
Experience with recommending, installing, and supporting network printers.
Very Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Operating systems. Including: Windows Server NT4/2000/2003/2008, Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/W7, Microsoft Exchange 5.5/2000/2003/2007/2010.
Excellent customer service skills: communication skills (both verbal and written), patience and enjoys interacting with clients (end-users).
Excellent attention to details: punctuality, scheduling, documentation, record keeping, etc.
Knowledge/experience of Active Directory. Must be proficient at setting up domain controllers, DNS, adding servers and workstations to AD, user setup, group policy, FSMO roles, login scripts.
Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 & 2003 (2007/2010 is a plus). Must be proficient at creating users, moving mailboxes, distribution groups, public folders (including email enabling), SMTP virtual server, email connectors. EXMerge, Wireless ActiveSync, and backup.
Knowledge/experience of backup systems. Must be proficient at architecting, installing, and supporting server backup systems. Including various backup options like Exchange, SQL, Open File, and Disaster Recovery. Must be proficient at designing off-site media rotations.
Knowledge/experience of firewall systems. Must be proficient at architecting, installing, and troubleshooting firewall systems for multi-server/service environments. Also, must be proficient at site-to-site and client-to-site VPN technologies; including designing, setup, and support. Sonicwall, Cisco, and Netscreen experience is a plus.
Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Outlook 2000, XP, 2003 (2007 is a plus). Proficient at setting up MAPI, RPC over HTTP, POP3, and IMAP connections. Also, proficiency of archiving, importing and exporting, working with PST, and OST.
Strong knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and support of anti-virus and anti-spyware tools. -Must be able to quickly remedy infected computer systems.
Knowledge/experience supporting mobile users. Laptop, PDA, PDA-Phones (iPhone, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm), push email, helping remote users (over the phone) who are in hotel rooms work on technical issues like accessing Internet, email, etc.
Knowledge/experience configuring, migrating, and troubleshooting Windows user profiles.
Excellent knowledge and experience of Windows 2000, XP,Vista, Windows 7, PC installation and upgrades.
Excellent knowledge and experience with desktop & laptop maintenance. Patching, disk clean-up, etc.
Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
Must have a personal vehicle, valid California Drivers License, valid auto insurance.
