Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an on an IT Project Lead on a contract opportunity with a leading company in Capitol Heights, MD.
In this position, the successful candidate will assist with directing and coordinating local area computer network for the entire Metro IT region, System Security/ Surveillance, digital processing and telecom activities at the CRDS/IRS and other locations. Coordinate and Supervise existing IT department. PC Tech/Helpdesk to support 100+ desktops. Provide phone/in-person support in standard Windows desktop applications/email. Requires strong supervision in PC troubleshooting skills; working knowledge of Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007, Outlook/Exchange; and previous end-user/desktop support experience. Build software applications to provide the technical architecture of Web sites or Web-based software products. Must have A+ certification and NT Server experience. Local travel required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Responsibilities
Responsible for management of CRDS and IRS network infrastructure.
Support UNIX/LINUX VMware environment.
Manage VLANS at CRDS/IRS
Manage system hardware and software assets.
Manage Hardware and software Inventory and renewals.
Oversee support of all IT systems.
Perform system administration duties to include setup of user accounts; creation of shared folders, files, and printers; and setup of logon scripts and user profiles.
Oversee connectivity at CRDS/IRS and off-sites to ensure optimal performance to include working with all ISPs to monitor and analyze connectivity, bandwidth use and data usage trends.
Responsible for maintaining overseeing installation of all patches, service packs, hot fixes, and upgrades to all CRDS/IRS network servers.
Responsible for installation, testing and maintenance of all hardware and software on CRDS/IRS network servers.
Manage all network connectivity to include RAS, VPN, Cisco any connect (tunneling), and Terminal Service connections.
Manage system backups for CRDS/IRS to include verification of backups and testing file restoration and disaster recovery procedures routinely.
Monitor all CRDS/IRS server event logs daily.
Establish and maintain CRDS/IRS network users, user environment, directories, and security.
Coordinate the implementation of new software, as needed.
Respond to network users on access to network resources.
Assist with development of system solutions consistent with DHS/IRS objectives.
Maintain all software systems, i.e., WinWits; Sclogic Microsoft Windows, etc.
Design, specify, configure, install, test and maintain all CRDS/IRS network infrastructure to include all servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling and Internet service providers.
Recommend and implement improvements for all software, hardware and infrastructure.
Develop, implement, and maintain all CRDS/IRS IT policies and procedures.
Negotiate contracts with and coordinate activities of hardware, software, support, and training vendors.
Collect and analyze network and memory utilization statistics.
Manage and routinely test backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Responsible for backing up network and updating virus protection software on servers daily.
Manage updates (Microsoft, Antivirus) to all CRDS/IRS workstations.
Engage in ongoing training to upgrade skills and knowledge of new technologies and security issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated individual.
Participate in all training required by ServiceSource, such as Human Rights training.
Troubleshoot Sclogic systems inside containment environment.
Create and Manage Ghosting environment of systems.
Assist with coverage in operations at CRDS/IRS
STANDARDS
Maintain effective and efficient operations of the CRDS/IRS IT Department.
Minimal downtime of critical IT resources during business hours.
Weekly notification to users of any expected downtime in network resources.
Develop effective plans to meet and implement business needs.
Deliver solutions on time and within budget.
Develop and deliver IT budget for CRDS/IRS.
Develop and present technical procedures at CRDS/IRS.
Develop training for non-technical staff and management users.
Develop and delivered training to field technicians CRDS/IRS.
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies

Working knowledge of all applicable technologies in use at CRDS/IRS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or comparable combination of education and experience; Master’s preferred.
Language and Communication Skills
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and prepare financial and operating IT documents.
Ability to work effectively as a supervisor and peer to accomplish necessary work.
Effective internal and external customer relations skills; ability to participate in and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries, negotiations, complaints, and team activities.
Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess training skills that will allow communication of technical information to non-technical users.
Technical Skills
Expert working knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 Server, Windows XP/Vista, Windows 7 Microsoft Office 2007, Outlook/Exchange, RAS, VPN, Terminal Services, hardware setup & troubleshooting, and previous network management support experience.
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills as well as superb customer service skills.
Requires working knowledge of all applicable technologies in use at DHS/IRS.
