Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Principal Security Analyst on a temporary to permanent opportunity with a leading company in Washington DC.
In this position, the successful candidate, under guidance from the Director, leads and participates in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures. Participates in or conducts audits and assessments of controls, including adherence to industry recognized security frameworks. Works with other groups within the IT and the larger organization to assess specific and overall compliance with internal policies and required external standards. Expected to be fully aware of the enterprises security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.
Involved in a wide range of security issues including security requirements in development, security in ecommerce, security risk assessment and mitigation. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies or self-regulating industry organization, such as PCI.
Responsibilities:
Lead audit participation and response on behalf of the Information Security group, including tracking and resolution of issues. Ensure security-related audit commitments and met and maintained. Participate and represent Information Security within groups, committees and task forces related to audit compliance.
Lead creation, review, stakeholder participation and approval process for new security standards and procedures. Manage periodic review process for existing policies, standards and procedures. Lead or assist in alignment of policies and standards with corporate policies and accepted practice. Lead or assist in training and awareness efforts for educating personnel on policy and standards.
Manage and respond to requests for clarification or interpretation of policy and standards. Measure and assess compliance with policy. Assist groups in addressing gaps in adherence to policies and standards. Track progress towards gap resolution.
Assist as needed in other related areas of information Security within the group, the department and the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of IT work experience in planning, designing, enforcing and auditing security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files and data elements.
• Knowledge of IT auditing and compliance practices; Excellent communication and presentation; kills; Strong process documentation and reporting capabilities; Self-motivated and self-directed; Strong cross-functional team participant; Task leadership experience.
• CISM, CISA, GSEC, CISSP or equivalent information security certification desirable.
• In lieu of a degree, 7 to 10 years experience may be suitable.
• Progressively demonstrated experience in information security.
Key points on this position:
• While managing audit activity is key to this position, experience responding to audits and managing audit commitments is for more important that conducting audits.
• Practical security policy experience and the ability to write workable security standards is desired
• It is critical that this resource both speak and write English fluently at a professional level. This is a writing intensive job.
