Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Sr Systems Engineer on a direct hire opportunity with a leading company outside Philadelphia.
In this position, the candidate will be part of a global command center supporting Server products and services. This position is one of the most senior resource in the center. The role of the center is to be the provider of end-to-end support to our client's customer base worldwide. The primary focus is to ensure timely resolution of incidents and apply approved changes where applicable. The candidate will also be accountable for driving resolution of major incidents during crisis mode.
Other duties include:
Provide customer with professional, timely, efficient and effective systems support.
Support or provision customer server changes
Provide systems related serviced support
Qualfied candidates should possess the following:
The candidate should have gone through the ranks of an operations group supporting customers globally on a 24-7-365 basis.
Ability to work on 8 hour shift during weekdays and also to provide 12 hour support during weekend/public holidays according to roster schedule.
Excellent customer focus, must have demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to interact with our customers in a professional, mature manner as well as dedication to providing superior service.
Effective communicator at all levels of the organization and outside with customers or third parties
Proven track record in maintaining and enhancing skill(s) level(s) according to future technology trends
Proven track record in managing multiple escalations with effective follow-up/follow-through
Demonstrated willingness to take incoming service requests without being prompted to by team members or Management, as well as accountability for resolving the trouble or request in a timely and complete fashion.
Ability to be personable and tenacious as the situations requires
Problem solving and root cause identification skills. Strong analytic and decision making abilities.
Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
Excellent knowledge of server hardware (including SCSI, RAID and I/O topology)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Windows Servers.
Excellent knowledge of storage hardware (including Fiber channel, clustering, etc.)
Must have an understanding and working knowledge of PC based equipment and common PC based applications
Working knowledge of network management tools like SCCM and SCOM, or other industry standard monitoring systems would be advantageous.
Advanced knowledge of networking (including WAN topology, mixed LAN/WAN operating system environments, DNS/WINS/DHCP, firewall solutions and network load balancing)
At least 4 to 10 years of experience working with Microsoft, Citrix, EMC and VMware product family.
Industry Technical Certifications is essential: MCSE 2003 (Minimum), VCP is required
Well versed in VMware vSphere/ESX, Citrix Xenapp, EMC CX and VNX series
Experience in Wintel environment, MS Exchange, MS Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GPO)
Experience operational role in a 24-7 organization is an asset.
Experience in MS System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Systems Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) is preferred
Knowledge of Health & Security Industry IT Operations would be a strong benefit.
