Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Senior SQL Developer for a major industry leader located in Austin, Texas. This is a direct hire position!


Responsibilities

Analyze requirements, design, and develop database solutions.
Define and implement build validation test procedures.
Analyze field defects to determine the appropriate resolution.
Document technical specifications.
Contribute expertise in transitioning existing solutions to MS-SQL Server 2008/2012.
Analyze existing solutions and identify changes that will improve performance and stability.
Identify own tasks and timelines to complete programming objectives.
Provide technical mentoring to other team members.
Work with a lead developer or manager to create project delivery schedules.
Collaborate with peers and members of other teams.

Experience and Skills Required

8+ years of experience with MS-SQL Server 2000/2005/2008.
Must have experience designing, developing, and administering high throughput, high availability OLTP Systems utilizing technologies such as mirroring, replication, clustering, etc.
Solid knowledge of the internals of the SQL Server engine.
Experience with current data storage technologies such as SAN, RAID, etc.
Experience with Entity Relationship modeling techniques.
Extensive knowledge of T-SQL language.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience and Skills Desired

Experience designing, developing, and administering databases to track financial transactions.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
Experience performing capacity planning for server and storage.
Experience designing and troubleshooting storage systems.
Experience calculating IO expectations of a new database.
Experience creating specifications for disk subsystems.
Experience troubleshooting SAN hardware.
