Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a Support Technician on a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Bessemer, AL.
Qualified candidates must meet the following job specifications:
Provide a high level of service to clients by attending to and resolving on-site service calls and efficiently repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment and conducting moves/adds/changes to hardware product (PC and Printer).
Conduct on-site upgrades, configurations and tests of client equipment.
Enhance level of technical training and skill set through active development within chosen technical path / skill set.
Maintain knowledge of new technologies and vendor offerings that are cost effective and optimize client satisfaction.
Maintain appropriate records and documentation on service work performed and ensure timely communication to supervisor of service order status and potential issues.
Demonstrate a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining technical information to non-technical individuals.
Demonstrate a clear and succinct writing style for the purpose of completing status and project documents.
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle record required for limited business travel.
Education:Associate’s Degree in the field of technology studies, or equivalent education and/or experience. Work Experience: Bench and/or on-site service technical experience – 2 years. Customer Interface experience – 2 years.
Technical Skills: High level of technical proficiency in microcomputer product areas. Familiarity with large account environments and protocol. Working knowledge in major desktop operating systems (Windows 9X, Windows NT Workstation, and Windows NT Server)
Certifications:
A+ and Hardware Vendor certifications (Compaq, IBM, HP, etc)
