We are searching for a Processing Medical Technologist on contract to hire opportunity with a leading health care company in New Orleans, Louisiana 70112

Applicants should have experience with the below instrumentation:

Required Equipment/Instrumentation:
Incubators, Olympus PK systems, Abbott Prism, Immunocor Galileo, Ortho Summit, cell washer, centrifuge, AU640 analyzer, Safetrace, Surround, Intellilab computer software.

Education Requirements:
- BS degree in medical technology or BS in Science with MT certification

Required Licensure:
-Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Blood Banking (ASCP), State of Louisiana CLS-G license

Responsibilities / Duties:
- Perform viral marker testing and/or ABO/Rh, STS, CMV and Chagas testing up to 600 samples within an eight hour shift with 99% successful runs.
- Perform up to 600 cholesterol tests within an eight hour shift with 100% accuracy.
- Perform antibody screens up to 600 samples within eight hours with 100% accuracy
- Resolve ABO/Rh discrepancies without supervisory assistance 75% of the time.

Experience: Medical Technology experience in blood banking, clinical chemistry, immunology or molecular testing. This position must have word processing knowledge and the ability to recognize and resolve discrepant results in testing.
