We are searching for a Medical Doctor on a Permanent / Direct Hire opportunity with a leading healthcare company in the Texas region.
Five Client locations in Texas: Dallas, Austin, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and McAllen. MD can work from home or office. Physicians can work 4 days in any of the offices above or work from home and come in to the office one day a week to meet with Nurses (if close by) or one day a month to meet with Nurses (if residence is too far from any of the locations above.)

Position Purpose: Assist the Chief Medical Director to direct and coordinate the medical management, quality improvement and credentialing functions for the business unit
Required Background: Knowledge/Experience: Requires a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy, board certified preferable in a primary care specialty (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine). Previous experience within a managed care organization is preferred.
Required License/Certifications: Board Certification through American Board Medical Specialties. Current state medical license without restrictions
Position Responsibilities: Medical leadership for all Utilizaiton Review. Perform medical review activities pertaining to utilization review, quality assurance, and medical review of complex, controversial, or experimental medical services. Assist the Chief Medical Director in approving cost effectiveness, and the development / implementation of physician education. Identifying and evaluating adverse trends in Utilization of Medical Service, unusual provider practice patterns, and adequacy of benefit/payment components.
