The successful Candidate will work from Technical Center located in Irvine, CA. This position is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare the candidate for a position in Field Sales for Injection Molding Machines, Systems and related Technology. The training is designed to expose the candidate to broad based applications, methods and procedures required to specify, quote, negotiate, sell, and provide technical support to prospective customers who may purchase Injection Molding Technology. Further, the training is designed to provide knowledge and background required to communicate effectively with senior management, technical and engineering support personnel during the regular pursuit of new business and daily sales activities.
Responsibilities and Activities to include:
Work with and follow up with Sales Engineers and occasionally with customers on the resolution of customer needs and requests. Gather information necessary to prepare the presentation of the final solution to the customer.
Develop comprehensive sales quotations, track order progress, intervene with customers and internal organization on order issues, participate in customer discussions when needed for sales support, work closely with sales organization to determine order specifications, work with manufacturing to set delivery dates and resolve any issues.
The incumbent may assist others in the creation and presentation of portions of the larger and more complex proposals
Assist more experienced SPE’s with the development of proposal presentations
Work with the Technical Service group to plan for, set up, and run Mold Demonstrations on Injection Molding Machines located at the CA Technical Center. Also, be prepared to assist Technical Service Engineers during process troubleshooting and training visits to customer facilities and training sessions held at the CA Technical Center.
Work with Aftermarket group to assist in coordinating customer inquiries and orders for replacement parts.
Work with the Western Region Field Service Coordinator to assist the Region Field Service Technicians (on an as needed basis) in support of field work required to service existing IMM capacity installed at Customer facilities. Occasional travel in conjunction with Field Service Technicians will be required for machine troubleshooting at customer plants in the Western Region.
Work in conjunction with and in a collaborative effort with the Operations Manager for the CA High Impact Technical Center
College Education, Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing or Engineering
5-7 years of related experience or training
The incumbent has a technical sales background typically obtained through prior experience in the Plastics Industry
The individual is assertive, persuasive and persistent
Project a positive image inside and outside of the organization
Position requires excellent written and oral presentation skills for both external and internal purposes
Carry out established Company operating procedures and policies
