Job Description
This Project Manager will work within the client’s global sales reporting program, responsible for delivering fast and agile reporting solutions to global Sales and Sales operations teams across the client’s Channel, Education and Commercial businesses world wide. The ideal candidate for this position will be customer oriented with strong communication and analytical skills, project management expertise, and experienced in Data and Reporting projects. The candidate will be a working with multiple business teams and needs to be comfortable working in a global, matrixed, fast-paced environment.
Job activities include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the sales and sales operations business teams to become a functional expert in key sales processes and related reporting needs
- Manage autonomously manage projects of varying scale and complexity
- Manage data acquisition and Reporting projects (BO, Dashboards, Tableau) either using agile or waterfall style under direction of Reporting Manager
- Work with multiple business teams to define and finalize business requirements and deliverables. Engage with IT reporting team to facilitate reporting design, development, testing and Integration
- Manage stakeholder communications
- Act as a liaison between the business and technology to ensure business needs are
adequately met with technology solutions
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis, and define contingency plans
- Develop and maintain issues logs to ensure accountability for resolution of key issues
- Create business scenarios to conduct the end-to-end testing
- Prepare, organize and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Define post production support plan and Training plan for project rollout
- Work with Regional teams to define the Shared Services Support model. Define support process, define standardSLA’s, usage and adoption metrics for Reporting tools
- Documenting the training documents, Data Dictionary and User reference guide
- Leverage industry trends, best practices, and leading-edge technology and process improvement ideas across reporting industry to challenge the status quo
Experience and Skills
- Excellent understanding of Business intelligence technologies, Reporting technologies, Relational databases, Data warehouse platform, concepts, architectures and tools
- Experience in PMO, defining Shared services framework, or creating BICC would be helpful
- Experience in consulting firm would be helpful
- Strong understanding of sales and sales operations processes in a channel environment
- Experienced and able to deliver multiple medium scale projects on-time successfully
- An understanding of the components and considerations required when building corporate systems (e.g. key architecture components, security, scalability etc.)
- Analytical capabilities needed to synthesize large amounts of data into a clear story and/or assess business process improvement opportunities.
- 6-8 years of recent experience as a BI PM/ Business analyst role in the high tech industry, with a demonstrated track record of successful project execution
- PMI/PMP certification preferred
- Working knowledge of BI tools and principles
- Experience Business Intelligence tools and capabilities preferably Business Objects & Tableau
- Experience with waterfall & agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Capable of managing high pressure and rapid development projects
- Proficient at handling multiple efforts simultaneously in a global company
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Self Starter and willing to figure things out, when they are not fully defined
- Excellent communication & documentation skills
- Proficiency in PowerPoint or Keynote Travel
- Domestic & International travel required once or twice a quarter
