1st Shift Mixer

Job Summary: 

Under general supervision by the Mixing Coordinator and/or Team Leader, prepares the mixture for preparation of our advanced porous ceramic products.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepared mixture for products following the work order and SOP.
  2. Maintain daily operator quality records and labor tickets.
  3. Obtain and maintain tow motor operator certification.
  4. Assist press operator with dumping mix into Acrison feeder and get tile boxes.
  5. Performs housekeeping duties in accordance with established housekeeping and safety procedures
  6. Actively participates in monthly DOT meetings.
  7. Complete required training.
  8. Follow all RTC policies and procedures.
  9. Become familiar with RTC’s Quality Policy and Quality Plan.
  10. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
  11. Communicate effectively with press operators and offloaders regarding quality of mixes.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous manufacturing experience recommended. 
  2. Good math and reading skills.
  3. Must have excellent attention to detail and to able to follow directions exactly.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.  The employee must consistently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.  The employee is regularly exposed to vibration. Work Environment

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to typical manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and steel-toed safety shoes.  Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.  Industrial lighting provided.  Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or unpleasant odors.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
