Description:

Employee must have the general competence to follow simple written procedures for shell and electrode plating. Employee will work under close supervision with simple oral and written instructions to do pre-plate and post plate parts racking. Work involves placing proper number of parts in baskets or on racks. Other work functions include x-ray inspection, maintaining a schedule to strip racks.

Employee will be required to exercise extreme care during daily functions to avoid damage to shell or electrodes. Employee will be required to perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Department Supervisor.

Maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work environment observing and practicing high standards of health and safety. This includes wearing appropriate attire, such as protective safety glasses, appropriate closed-toed shoes and any other safety required gear where applicable.

Employee must be flexible with job scheduling in order to meet the overall needs of the company and the Plating Department.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Good attendance required of this position.

Qualifications:

The Test Technician must possess electrical and mechanical aptitude and basic skills on soldering and assembling of electro/mechanical devices. Must be proficient in the use of multi-meters and other basic instruments as well as demonstrate proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes. He must possess the ability to read, interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, schematics and parts lists. The Test Technician must be computer literate. He must possess the ability to work alone and manage time with little supervision and have good troubleshooting skills. He must have AC/DC power electronics and applications background. Must be willing to work with voltages as high as 1000VAC and 400VDC.


Specific Responsibilities:
� The Research & Development Technician will assist Engineers in building electrical/mechanical prototypes, including PC boards.
� Will perform verification testing on PC boards and equipment with instruction from an Engineer.
� Test circuits and systems for Uninterruptible Power systems, and assemble test fixtures.
� Help with documentation, part number requests and engineering change orders when needed
� Organize the lab and procure tools and lab equipment.

Building PCBs will be secondary at this point; the more important aspects are:

- Ability to perform verification testing on PC boards and equipment with instruction from an Engineer.
- Ability to test circuits and systems for Battery chargers and assemble test fixtures.
- Ability to help with documentation, part number requests and engineering change orders when needed
- An Associate�s degree in electronic technology or equivalent is required.

Experience:
The Test Technician must have a technology background that includes at least 3 years� experience in power electronics and a versatile hands-on individual with good analytical skills. Must have experience working on PC board level electronic circuits and equipment. Knowledge of power electronics and PWM Inverters a plus. Experience with power in the ranges of: 480 to 600VAC with currents over 100A preferred.

Education:
An Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent is required.
