Access Center Coordinator

Position: Access Center Coordinator


This position is a front office role that coordinates patient scheduling, outreach, and communication activities in the Vascular Access Center! They handle dialysis for their patients. This position also maintains patient charts, handles physician correspondence, answers telephones, manages patient flow, and supports central billing functions by gathering insurance information, physician referrals, and insurance pre-authorizations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bilingual (English, Spanish)
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare or medical billing office required demonstrating:

Understanding of medical terminology
Experience verifying insurance with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payors
Experience in obtaining pre-authorizations and/or referrals from insurance carriers
Strong customer service
Experience with scheduling, insurance authorization, and prior authorizations.


Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required


Schedule: Mon – Fri 7:00am - 3:30pm
Must be OK with working holidays, besides the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.
